Garland Development Code
Garland Development Code (GDC)
The Garland Development Code is a consolidated document that includes development-related regulations such as zoning requirements, subdivision regulations and other design and development standards.
A consolidated code has several advantages over maintaining separate codes:
It avoids overlapping, conflicting or inconsistent requirements by providing one source for all standards.
It is more efficient since users only need to become familiar with one set of standards and the approval procedures are covered under one ordinance.
By integrating all types of development, a consolidated code offers a more comprehensive approach to design and leads to more consistent treatment of different types of development.
